This is an unpaid internship and requires a commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week for a period of one semester, to coincide with your summer semester. Interns will schedule their time during company operating hours: 8 a.m. through 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interns will be compensated with work experience, course credit (if applicable), reference letters, and complimentary copies of backlist hurts and new title releases during the course of their internship at Llewellyn.  Fall applications will be accepted through August 2, 2013.

Responsibilities:

Interns will apply their skills while working closely with members of the Publicity department in support of campaigns and promotional projects for the titles. Tasks include:

  • Coordinating mailings of galleys and other materials
  • Database maintenance
  • Tracking and logging reviews
  • Updating websites
  • Proofing copy
  • Assembling press kits                       
  • Handling tertiary title campaigns
  • Creating event signage
  • Assisting in administrative tasks such as data entry, photocopying, and various support duties
  • Consumer and trade show materials preparation

Requirements:

Applicants must be actively working towards a college-level educational degree, where an internship is prescribed or required as part of the educational curriculum.

Interns will receive training in the programs and databases specific to Llewellyn publicity functions including CisionPoint, NetGalley, Campaign Enterprise. Interns should also be comfortable with:

  • Microsoft Office 2007 applications (including Word, Outlook, Publisher, and Excel); Adobe Photoshop, InDesign on MAC a plus

Additionally, interns should possess the ability to:

  • Work independently
  • Multitask
  • Prioritize
  • Meet deadlines
