Fundamental Laws of Enochian Magick

This article was written by Gerald and Betty Scheuler on May 10, 2002
posted under Enochian Magick

The three fundamental Laws of Enochian Magick are stated in H. P. Blavatsky’s The Secret Doctrine. These Laws pertain to everything in the universe, from subatomic particles to galaxies:

1. The Law of Duality states that an om-nipresent, eternal, boundless and immutable Principle splits into two aspects of itself as an act of creation in order to form the manifested worlds. This First Principle, or Infinite and Eternal Cause, splits into the duality of space and motion. All manifestation is therefore dualistic.

2. The Law of Periodicity states that the universe is a boundless plane of periodic manifestation. Everything in the universe is subject to periodic flux and reflux, ebb and flow, day and night, life and death, and so on. This continuous oscillation is an expression of the Great Breath.

3. The Law of Identity states that there is a fundamental unity among all manifested things; the differences that we observe in the universe are due solely to time and space. This Law is borne of the fact that if we choose any two objects and negate those differences due to time and space, the two objects will be observed as one single object. The primary conclusion from this Law is that humankind is inherently a star. An important corollary of this Law is the Law of Karma—the Cycle of Necessity that defines the specific nature of each object’s evolutionary progress.
