Orchid: Orchids are considered aphrodisiacs. This belief probably came from its physical appearance. Some orchids possess a pair of tubers that have been related to testicles. The name “orchid” comes from the Greek word for testicles, orchis. Men ate the larger tuber of an orchid when they wished to have a male child, and the smaller uber when they wanted a female child.
