| DEFINITIONS |
Shem: One of the sons of Noah, he is the only one not cursed for “exposing the nakedness” of his father. He is the progenitor of all Asians, including the Children of Israel. He learned a number of occult arts from his father, including the use of herbs to counter demons and astrology. According to Rabbinic tradition, he established the first House of Study for Torah (even though it had yet to be given at Mount Sinai).
