The Choices Spread
This article was written by Amber K posted under Tarot
If you have to make a choice from two or more options, this is a good spread to use. First place two cards representing the question and the querent’s position in this situation. Then split the deck into as many parts as you have choices, and from each take one card to represent the outcome of that choice.
After studying each option and its outcome, using Gestalt techniques, draw an additional card for any choice where you are not clear as to the result. These clarification cards should provide greater insight. If there are any choices that still have unclear results, draw yet another card for each, up to three cards.
By this time you should have discovered the most favorable choice. If you were leaning toward one choice in the beginning, and the outcome is not looking good, don’t keep drawing cards indefinitely until you get the answer you want.
What if all the choices seem to result in negative outcomes? Then consider the possibility that there are options you haven’t thought of. Draw another card to stand for the first unknown, unconsidered option, and one or two more cards for clarification. If necessary, draw another card to represent a second unknown option and expand on that.
More options are usually available to us than we see at first. You might ask, “Should I buy that parcel of land?” Well, you could buy it, or you could leave it alone: two choices. Or you could lease it (third option), or lease with an option to buy (fourth option), or buy it with a partner (fifth option), or form a corporation to buy it (sixth option), or buy part of it (seventh option), or buy it and also the neighboring land (eight option). Always assume there are more choices, and seek them out. (From Amber K’s files, source unknown.)
