Books to Change Lives

This article was written by Carl Llewellyn Weschcke

CHANGE is a constant in everybody’s lives, but most people fear and fight change. Many are scared at the thought of impermanence, as if standing on shaking ground before an earthquake. We think of ourselves as permanent, but we are not. Our bodies change constantly, as does our mind, our feelings, our hopes, and our dreams. Nothing of this world is permanent.

CHANGE is everywhere, but you can take charge of change as it affects you and your world. Taking charge of your personal change is exactly what you’re supposed to do. You are a person with Free Will, with Will Power. You are a reader and student, in touch with Sources of Knowledge. It is your choice to use knowledge to make positive change in your life before you are swept along by the ‘forces of Fate.’

CHANGE is what Llewellyn books are all about: books to change lives for better. When you study Astrology, you seek to know and understand the self as you were born and to understand and guide the changes coming in your planetary environment. When you study Magic you seek to make desirable changes in your personal environment. When you study Lunar Science & Gardening you seek to make changes in your natural environment in harmony with the Moon’s favorable phases and aspects, enjoying growth and prosperity. When you study Shamanism you seek to make changes in your spiritual environment and person for true transformation and attainment.

CHANGE is at the core of all Self-Help, Self-Improvement, Esoteric Science, Tarot Practice, Pagan & Wiccan Life Style, and Spiritual Study.

CHANGE is the power of the HedgeWitch – change in harmony with the natural order. CHANGE is the power to weave your own future – under guidance through the imaginative art of the Enchanted Oracle. CHANGE is the power to enter the archetypal world using the renewed imagery of the Mystic Dreamer Tarot. CHANGE is the necessary experience of the ‘Dark Side’ shown in the Shadow Magick Compendium. CHANGE comes through the magical empowerment prescribed in The Veritable Key of Solomon. CHANGE comes through the personal empowerment of the Witch described in Everyday Witch A to Z. CHANGE comes through the spiritual empowerment developed in the practices of High Magic II. CHANGE is experienced through the healing of unconscious beliefs blocking you from your true spiritual purpose through the technique of Soul Visioning. CHANGE is the experience we have in contemplating the ultimate transition of physical death in Walking the Twilight Path.

CHANGE is the empowering opportunity offered to each of us through books. Books are experienced at whatever pace you desire, and can be re-experienced time and time again for reference or enjoyment. Books are our heritage from the past, our opportunity from the present, and our gift to the future.

CHANGE is what we give to ourselves to free us from the limitations of the past, whether through our actions or those of others. It’s our way to move on, to improve our lives for the better, and to help make the world a better place. We all have both the opportunity and the responsibility to “walk in beauty” and to leave the world more beautiful than we found it. We ourselves are agents of change, whether we like it or not. We become good agents of change through learning, through experience, through growth and self-improvement.

The more we learn and the more we think, the more we can act with wisdom and responsibility. Books empower us to change lives, intelligently. This is what I believe.
