Gargoyles have long been a symbol of protection. They are associated most often with Gothic architecture and are seen on castles and churches alike. Their grotesque features are thought to scare away evil spirits. So how can we use these creatures to help protect us? You can hit up the post-Halloween sales to see if you can find a gargoyle or use some air-dry clay to create a small one. After you have your gargoyle, you are ready to put them to work. Use olive oil to create a protection oil to anoint your friend with. You can add protective herbs to the oil, such as rosemary, mint, cinnamon, sage, and black pepper. Once you have your oil ready, place a small amount on your finger and anoint the gargoyle's head while saying: Protection is granted from the oil blend. Stand guard for me and mine, my stone friend. |
