Spell: Remembering the Ancestors of Place

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

On this day in 1634, the first colonists arrived in what is now southern Maryland. They were Catholics seeking to escape religious persecution. Let us all take some time today to do some research on those who occupied our lands before us: the Ancestors of Place. We may not think or be much like them. However, we are indeed connected through our physical occupation of the same lands. Whether we are proud of our ancestors or vehemently disagree with them, there are lessons to be learned from them.

Light a white candle upon your altar and anoint it with a magical oil or holy water of your choice. Allow the Ancestors of the Land to offer you their lessons so you can glean wisdom from their lives. Then allow the candle to burn down safely as you research those who came before you.
