Incense of the day: Sandalwood How about a spicy, magical potpourri to bring in some new business at this dark time of year? In a small jar place three tablespoons of orris root or cellulose fiber fixative, along with one teaspoon of amber, sandalwood, or orange-spice fragrance oils. Allow this to sit overnight. To two cups of small pine cones add one cup rose petals and buds, one-half cup of orange peel ribbons, and each of the following: a whole star anise, several basil leaves, two whole nutmegs, several bay leaves, two cinnamon stick pieces, and several small to medium sea shells. Gently combine all the ingredients in a glass or ceramic bowl. Add the ingredients of the jar from the night before. Store the contents in a glass or plastic jar in a cool, dry, dark place for one week, and it is ready to use. |
