Spell: Freedom from the Chains that Bind Mojo

This is the date in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was set forward. One of the more compelling portions of the declaration, particularly in relation to Pagans and Witches is: "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Clearly though, this beautiful sentiment did not apply to all as it was not until 1863 that the Emancipation Proclamation was written, stating: "all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State . . . shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the Executive Government of the United States . . . will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons." Later, the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. All the while there has been a humble root that Hoodoos of various faiths, colors, and creeds have placed in their mojo bags as emblematic of personal freedom and the promise of happiness. High John the Conqueror (Ipomoea jalapa) is more than a simple tuber, but is a symbolic representation of breaking free of the chains of slavery. High John, a relative of both the morning glory and sweet potato, represents the slave who fights against enslavement until freedom is obtained. We all suffer from one type of slavery or another. Today create a mojo, utilizing the power of the natural amulet, High John, along with the stone hematite to strengthen the system and help one break free of addiction. Find a red flannel bag with a drawstring closure, and place High John the Conqueror inside. Add a clear, charged hematite stone and a pinch of kosher salt. If you've got a few devil's shoe strings, add them in to keep evil at bay. Slippery elm, lemon-grass, and eucalyptus are also known to aid in freedom, so add a pinch of each. Roll the bag on the ground a few times so the herbs crumble and are well mixed. Finally, add a few drops of rose oil to add extra power. Now, you've got yourself a Freedom from the Chains that Bind mojo bag.
