Color of the day: Amber
Incense of the day: Almond August 17 marks the day Odin, the Norse god of war and magic, hung himself from the World Tree in his search for wisdom. After nine days without food or drink, he peered "down to the deepest depths," the Well of Possibility, and discovered the runes. The runes served as an ancient alphabet for Odin's people to use in their spell work and as a divination tool. For this spell, use "Sowelu," (S) the rune for wholeness. This rune symbolizes self-realization. Carve this rune on an orange candle. Light the candle, close your eyes, and visualize a deep well, the Well of Possibility. Try to keep your mind focused on the well. What messages occur to you? You may wish to throw the runes for clarification. |
