Spell: Animal Invocation

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Ivory
Incense of the day: Lily

In Celtic tradition, animals associated with the underworld were thought to have special magical or healing attributes. This was true for animals who dwelt under the Earth and in bodies of water that originated underground. Holy wells in Ireland sometimes contained a salmon, trout, or eel that was considered extremely sacred and gave the well its power. In Scotland, serpents were associated with healing, transformation, and wisdom because of their ability to shed their skin, and their connection with the underworld. Fill a cauldron with spring water and repeat this spell to connect with the power of these magical creatures:

I dip my spirit into the well,
The well of wisdom and transformation,
The transformation of soil and water,
The waters that flow beneath the Earth,
The Earth that holds the mysteries,
The mysteries of serpent and salmon.
Salmon of wisdom I call to you
As I dip my soul into the well.
