Spell: House Protection

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: White
Incense of the day: Neroli

Today is the Roman festival honoring the god Portunus, guardian of gates and doors (portals). Keys were important symbols in his rituals. A very old spell for protecting your home from theft is to string three keys on a red cord and hang it above your front door. It is very important that the keys do not fit any of your locks! Say:
Three keys I hang by magic cord
Across the threshold no thief can ford
I now invoke the law of three
This is my will, so mote it be.
Skeleton keys can still be found at hardware stores that specialize in old house renovations. Wearing a skeleton key around your neck or in your pocket protects you from evil. If you come to a crossroads and are uncertain which direction to take, toss a bunch of keys over your left shoulder. The longest key in the bunch will point the correct way.
