Spell A DayBasic Wand UseSpell Date: Wednesday, February 20, 2013
Color of the day: Topaz
Incense of the day: Bay laurel
First let me say that I do not use my wand primarily to cast spells; I use it to focus my energy into positive channels. If I'm angry or anxious, I use the wand to bring me back to a place of calm. I face west (my preferred direction), point the wand toward the floor, and channel the negativity through the wand and into the ground. Personally I prefer channeling thoughts, not words, but the object is to exchange raw emotion for calm, rational thinking.
When finished with the channeling, I endorse my wand for its assistance. I keep my wand on an altar. Wands can be particualrly soothing during transitional moments in life, such as births, weddings, funerals, new jobs, and new homes. Touching a newborn baby with a wand can endow that baby with your positive energy. Those old fairy tales have grains of truth in them after all!
