Theater has the power to move us and shake our worlds.
Today marks the start of the Greek Dionysia, a festival of theater and civic understanding. We can celebrate by taking time to watch a movie (or go to a play) that helps us see our world in a new way. Short on time today? Make a list of movies you'd like to watch when you have time, or check out listings for plays or other productions coming up soon in your area. Shakespeare offers a lot of options, or check out dramas about a historical period or an important historical figure, such as Elizabeth, Agora, or many Kurosawa films. If you want to stretch this out over a longer period of time, TV series like Babylon 5, Foyle's War, and Battlestar Galactica all do a great job of examining how we interact with others in community.
