Spell: Kolam for a Cold Day

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

This chilly January day marks the Indian festival of Makar Sankranti, when Kolams-patterns of sacred geometry-are drawn on front stoops in colored rice powder to invoke blessings for the year ahead.
Create a Kolam in colored chalk on the sidewalk in front of your home to bring protection and abundance. Use symbols or patterns that hold meaning for you, and refer to a trusted source on color magic to decide which hues to use.
Before you draw, sweep your work space to clear it of any physical debris and cloudy energy. As you draw and color your pattern, recite an incantation of purpose to fortify your intentions. It can be as simple as:

"Blessings of the sun,
come to my doorstep!"

Let the wind, rain, and sun wash the drawing away and carry your request to the universe.
