Spell: Spell for Cultivating Beauty

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Maybe your neighborhood, house, or apartment building is a bit drab. You can inspire others by helping to beautify your surroundings, and remind yourself and others that beauty is a necessary and lifeaffirming influence. Get some annual flower seeds (easy-to-grow ones like marigolds, cosmos, nasturtiums, calendulas, and zinnias are all good choices), and plant them in sunny, well-drained soil in pots or in empty spots in your neighborhood. Don't forget to water them if the weather is dry. Meditate on the positive force of beauty every time you interact with these growing plants. When the seedlings appear, make sure they are not overcrowded. You may be able to transplant them to additional pots once they are a couple inches tall. Ask your local greenhouse to donate plastic planting pots for your project. Give extra pots of flowers to neighbors. Spread this natural beauty around everywhere you can. This is a simple but potent work of magic.
