| Blessed Michaelmas! Today we honor the warrior archangel who led the divine army against the forces of evil. Call Michael's spirit to your side by creating a special altar to him. Arrange nine blue candles in a circle on your altar (nine for Michael's month, and blue, Michael's color). If you have a statue or picture of Michael, or a devotional candle with his image on it, set it in the center of the circle. Place peppers, cinnamon, cumin, or other hot foods and spices in the circle as well. Michael is associated with the sun, so hot foods are appropriate offerings to him. Light the candles with these words:
"Warrior and angel, Lend me your sword, Michael. Guard me, guide me, and stay by my side." Invoke Michael's spirit whenever you need a warrior presence in your life. |
