POSTED UNDER Wind, Yule

Spell: As the Wheel Turns Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

If you're a Pagan who doesn't also celebrate the Christian holiday, you might choose tonight to take down your tree. As you do so, gather some of the dried greens and place them in a dish. Once the whole house is cleaned and the decorations are put away, take a fireproof dish and carefully burn the last of the Yule greens. If there are a lot, you'll want to do this outside. If burning just a few, you'll still want to do this near an open door or window.

As you put each sprig on the fire, think about all that came to pass this year and that which is fading away. While doing so, I like to softly and slowly sing a single line from "Deck the Halls"-the one about how quickly the old year leaves us. You may wish to use this lyric or another one that has deep meaning for you. Once all is burned, say:

"The Wheel turns. I welcome the new. Be blessed."
