LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Banishing the Garbage

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Whether it's food scraps or personal items, people throw out a lot of garbage. Magically speaking, garbage is a connection to our lives and should be managed the same as any other. We must be just as mindful about what we release from our lives as we are about what we allow into them.

All the practical advice of shredding important documents applies of course, but it is also magically helpful to sever any ties we may have to what is tossed out, especially old clothes, nail clippings, etc. A quick and effective means of breaking the connection is to simply cast a banishing pentagram over the bag of garbage before you throw it out. Point at the bag and draw a pentagram (starting at the lower-left point and moving up to the center, then lower right, then upper left, then right, and back down) over the bag to release all ties, then toss it out.
