Spell: Building a Victorian Flower Altar

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today in 1837, Queen Victoria ascended the throne. During that era, all objects carried meaning and every variety of flower conveyed a message. Build a Victorian love altar for platonic, romantic, or familial love by placing a photo of you and yours at the center and surrounding it with the appropriate flowers in the shape of a heart:

Tulips invoke the courage to declare your love.

Celebrate fidelity with ivy.

The first blush of love isn't pink, but purple and is hidden in the scent of lilacs.

Today, poppies are associated with the military, but before the First World War, patriotic love or love for someone in service was expressed by the nasturtium.

Daisies are an expression of innocent love. Surround images of the children you love with these flowers.

Affection begins with you. Show yourself some love with a narcissus.

And don't forget roses-love's essential, all-purpose flower!
