LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Old Maids No More

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

A quaint newspaper article from June 4, 1953, heralded this day as "Old Maid's Day" in honor of all unmarried women over the age of thirty. We've come a long way. In the modern triumvirate of maiden/ mother/crone, a woman at thirty may still be firmly lodged in the maiden years. Celebrate the maidens in your life in a special way. Plan a meal or an outing. Send flowers or an edible bouquet. If you are a maiden, take time to celebrate the mothers and crones in your life. Remember, they were once maidens like you.
