LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Find a Tool!

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Many of us happily pay for magical bling, but it’s equally true that “found” tools and items can be just as wonderful.

Take yourself on a walk to find a tool, whether in a densely wooded area, on an inner-city street, or by the ocean’s edge. Leave your electronics in your pocket, and as you walk, open yourself to sensation. Be aware of items, shapes, sounds, or whatever speaks to you. Repeat this mantra:

The world is full of power,
if only I will see.

Is that fallen branch the perfect shape for a wand or bell-branch? Could those peeling pieces of birch bark be pressed, dried, and used as spell-writing paper? Would those herbs, growing wild and fierce through a sidewalk crack, make a powerful magical oil? Could that seashell be used to burn incense? Might those perfectly round stones become a divination tool?

Find your tool, cleanse and charge it, and treasure it forever.
