Be it chocolate, food, cigarettes, wine, lust, or shopping, most of us experience temptation that lures us from our best intentions. Recognizing the moment when we succumb to temptation is the first step in managing any excess. For example, if your passion is sweet food, next time you crave it take a walk outdoors or clean a drawer or cupboard in your room. If you are at work, have a glass of water or herbal tea or clean out a drawer. Invoke the attributes of the Roman goddess Diana to help you focus on your goals to manage temptation. Ensure that your goals are realistic and break them down into smaller, more achievable ones to help you stay on track. Don't try to give up chocolate altogether; simply reduce your intake so you enjoy it moderation.
