| Having or being a mother can be a tricky thing. Mothers and children alike tend to hold such high standards for motherhood that they can rarely (if ever) be reached. This can lead to many challenges, including feelings of guilt, low self-esteem, anger, abandonment, and resentment. Not only that, but if you're harboring negative feelings about your mother, and you're female, you're definitely harboring negative feelings about yourself, because "the mother" is an archetype that resides within you, whether you have children or not. This is a ritual to help heal mother issues on all levels, which is a powerful step toward inner peace. Find a picture or statue of Mother Mary and set it next to a clear glass bowl filled with water. Put a floating candle into the water along with petals from a pink rose.
Light the candle and say: Mother Mary, please heal my heart. |
