| The Roman Mercury (Greek Hermes, Norse Odin or Wotan), who rules Wednesday, is the god of communication, merchants, travel, and thieves. (Forget about that last one.) The planet he rules runs faster around the sun than any of his sister or brother planets. In astrology, as the messenger of the gods, Mercury rules both Gemini (talkative folks) and Virgo (detail-oriented folks). He is also known to be a wise and crafty counselor.
Wednesday is thus a good day to ask for Mercury's help and/or blessings if you're engaged in any project involving communication, selling, or travel. Start with this invocation: "Great, swift-footed Mercury, fly to me and lend me your winged cap and winged sandals so that I may think more quickly and more clearly and move my project along more quickly." Now explain your situation to Mercury and ask for his help or blessing. |
